Well it is 2023, the past 3 years have brought intense changes to so many areas of our lives. I think it's fair to say that for many of us, life often feels like swimming upstream, and since the pandemic the stream has started to flow stronger and we now have to work harder to make the progress we want. Not to mention that if you happen to be someone dealing with a chronic illness or injury, life's challenges are even greater. The pain, inflammation, and fatigue compounded by the anxiety that comes from being restricted can all feel debilitating.

My name is Drew Doty, and be it sports injuries, navigating a chronic illness, or even just quieting the itty-bitty-shitty committee in my head, yoga has always been my greatest teacher and healer.

Yoga, is an ancient practice that allows us to explore and align our whole self. It helps us bear witness to how the state of our body is really just a reflection of the state of our minds. Yoga brings us back into a seat of authority over our whole self, and encourages us towards the present moment again and again, both on and off the mat. It teaches us that our breath and our intentional focus have the power to dramatically change our experience of our self, the pain we feel and hold onto, and our perception of what we are capable of. When it comes to chronic injury or illness, yoga offers a clear path towards acceptance and powerful practices for managing debilitating symptoms.

I founded Onward Yoga as a way to help people like you flow into a calmer, stronger, and more wholehearted life. One that feels more like we are able to flow in the same direction as the river and less like we are swimming upstream. I believe that we can only find our true path forward in life when we allow ourselves to arrive in the present moment fully. Yet so much of this postmodern capitalist world we live in pulls our attention away from the present and either into a state of worrying about the future, being paralyzed by all that we are lacking, or repeating old patterns that prevent us from growing and evolving. For me, and millions of others, yoga provides a clear and accessible path to the present moment, and its only in the present that we can begin to see our true path Onward.

Right now, we are building an online community of people like you who are curious about yoga, who are ready to grow, and who are looking for personalized guidance to bring this ancient practice into their lives. The Onward Community is free to join and each week we are posting new classes tailored to various ability levels. Whether you are new to yoga, or you have been flowing for years, we are creating classes to meet you where you are, and if you are not sure where to start, we will be happy to talk with you in a 1:1 consultation to make sure you are getting the support you need.

We also offer personalized coaching plans, where you can get weekly guidance for starting or growing your

practice, managing an injury or chronic illness, or even to work on developing specific poses that might currently be inaccessible. Additionally, we have just launched Onward Everyday, our premium online membership where you can get 24/7 access to our full video library of yoga flows, strength building classes, guided meditations, breathwork trainings, and special live events - all to help you build a consistent practice whenever and wherever you are.

The best way to experience all that we are offering is through the Onward App. We are currently hosted by Fit by Wix.
